Who This Is For

For Midlife Women
Around the World

Living Well Institute exists for women who have experienced betrayal — intimate, developmental, societal, or self-inflicted — and who are ready to move beyond surviving into something more deliberate and whole.

You do not need to be in Washington State. You do not need to be in therapy. You need to be a woman who is done being defined by what was done to her.

Teresa Zuvela is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Certified Sex Addiction Therapist, and Certified Partner Trauma Therapist with over 25 years of clinical experience working exclusively in betrayal trauma recovery with women.

Living Well Institute was founded to bring Teresa's clinical framework — the Woodland Pathways Model — beyond the therapy room and to women around the world who are ready to heal, regardless of where they live.

"Twenty-five years of clinical work has taught me one thing above all else: betrayal is first a nervous system event before it is a relationship decision. When we treat it that way — everything changes."

The Scope of This Work

Betrayal Takes Many Forms

Living Well Institute is built to address the full spectrum of betrayal that midlife women experience — beginning with intimate betrayal and expanding as the work deepens.

Primary Focus

Intimate Betrayal

Discovery of a partner's sexual addiction, infidelity, or secret life. The most acute form of relational betrayal — a nervous system event before it is a relationship decision.

Expanding Work

Developmental Betrayal

Early relational wounds that shaped attachment patterns, self-trust, and the capacity to recognize betrayal before it becomes crisis.

Expanding Work

Self-Betrayal

The ways women abandon themselves — their needs, boundaries, instincts, and truth — often long before the partner's betrayal becomes visible.

Expanding Work

Societal Betrayal

The cultural systems that normalize the conditions in which intimate betrayal thrives — and that too often leave the betrayed partner isolated and unsupported.

Expanding Work

Patriarchal Betrayal

The structural failures of institutions, religion, medicine, and culture that have historically minimized or pathologized women's trauma responses to betrayal.

Future Work

Collective Betrayal

The betrayal of communities, generations, and inherited family systems — and the healing that becomes possible when women name and address these deeper roots.
